Carne Asada
1/2 lbs. Round Steak, tenderized
1/8 tsp. Salt/Pepper
1/8 tsp. Garlic Powder (or garlic salt)
2 tsp. Olive Oil
1/2 small Onion, chopped
1/4 cup Raisins
2 medium=sized Tomatoes, peeled, chopped
3 Jalapeno Chiles, cut in lengthwise strips
1/4 tsp. Thyme
1 tsp. Vinegar
Make slits in the steak and seasoned with salt, pepper, and garlic powder or salt. Broil in outdoor grill or oven broiler. Cook as desired.
In a saucepan, heat olive oil and saute onions. Add raisins, tomatoes and chiles. Season, then add vinegar and cook over high heat, then reduce heat to simmer. cover. Simmer for 5 to 8 minutes. when meat is cooked, serve with chili mixture. (Serves 6)
